Learn It-Lego Technology

On Monday 27th November Ross came to school to show us how to program Lego robots on tablets. After he explained it to us, he gave us Lego boxes with sensors, motors and pieces of Lego. We were in groups of 2 or 3 and we started to build our robots. We could watch mini clips on Lego people/drones/submarines on the tablet. It helped us get an idea of what we wanted to build. Our challenge was to make the robot drive forward to the end of the table and stop, to play music of our choice, to change battery colour reverse and stop again. The winners of that challenge was Zoe and Zoe and 2nd place was Aaron and Callum. Ross told us we would get boxes of Lego next week and we are excited because we had enjoyed the challenge and found it very interesting. We got pens, stickers and tattoos from Ross for taking part.

Peace by Piece Lego Engineering’ project

5 new laptops and 5 boxes of Mindstorm Lego have just arrived from Peace VI for ‘The Peace by Piece Lego Engineering’ project. We are looking forward to putting this new equipment to good use during workshops and Lego leagues in the New Year.

I.C.T.

Every Monday and Friday we go to Mrs. Crawford to learn I.C.T. We have been learning to type, using our fingers properly on the keyboard. We have been learning about powerpoints. We picked pictures of cats and dogs and gathered information about the animals. We had a heading, facts and pictures on our powerpoint. We have enjoyed this.
